Hunedoara County Council
The project promoter is UAT Hunedoara County, Public Cultural Institution, with proper experience in the last five years in the specific field targeted by the project.
1. Subordinated to the Hunedoara County Council, the General Directorate for the Administration of Monuments and Tourism Promotion of Hunedoara County operates since 2020, which ensures the direct administration of the historical monuments and their area, especially Sarmizegetusa Regia – Fortified Wall, as well as of other monuments.
This organisation has relevant experience in the activity of protecting, preserving and enhancing the monument under project, including through advertising activities, means of protection and guarding the area of the monument targeted by the project, maintaining it, operating it, exploitation and enhancement and ensuring the maintenance of the lands and access roads related to the administered area.
2. Within the General Directorate for the Administration of Monuments and Tourism Promotion of Hunedoara County, the Scientific Council will peform its activity as a consultative organisation created for the purpose of promoting the historical monuments in the county, the projects and the maintenance, preservation and restoration works of the UNESCO monuments. This council consists of specialists with extensive experience in the field covered by this project.

- Representatives of the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj Napoca
- A representative of the Romanian Academy.
3. The team of the service for monitoring and implementing the non-refundable financing for regional development, with the responsability of attracting and managing external financing, has relevant expertise and experience in the field covered by the project.
The experience includes important projects such as:
A. Conservation, restoration at the Amphitheater within the archaeological site Ulpia Traiana Sarmizegetusa in a time period of 54 months – 2019 – 2023: A project for the sustainable valorisation of the COLONIA ULPIA TRAIANA AUGUSTA DACICA SARMIZEGETUSA heritage, with the objective of conservation and restoration works, with direct impact on the increase of the number of visitors after the intervention on the site, boosting the local development and the Hunedoara County as well. B. Project partner: Development of the Dacian civilization museum with the rehabilitation and modernization of the surrounding streets in Oraștie: 2019 – 2022, ameliorate the wellbeing of the population living in small and medium-sized cities in Romania, by improving social, educational, cultural-recreational services. This was done by establishing the Museum of Books and Old Icons, the residence for the UNESCO Committee and the Scientific Council of the Sarmizegetusa Regia monument, along with the Tourist Information and Promotion Center, and lastly the Museum of Ethnography and Traditional Art Orăștie – the Museum of Dacian Civilization.
