Today we present to you, four of the 14 activities through which we bring the Capital of Dacia to life, activities that support the idea of \u200b\u200ba living museum from the title of our project. The invitation to participate in them is issued to you right now! Let's tell you what it's about!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Forge the iron.<\/strong>
    We're waiting for you at the Dacian blacksmith's workshop.
    The land of Dacia was very rich in resources.\nIn Decebalus' era, it seems that at Sarmizegetusa and in the surroundings were some of the largest metalworking workshops of European antiquity.\nIn these workshops, the Dacians made massive anvils, hammers, files, sledgehammers, tongs, chisels, objects for wood processing or used in construction, saws, axes, drills, the weapons to supply for a numerous army: swords, daggers, shields, lances, and spears.\nAdornments and garment accessories are also part of the list.\nWe awaken the young people's interest in this activity by organizing six Dacian forge workshops, to which skilled blacksmiths will be invited.\nThey will demonstrate the methods of metalworking.\nWe are also setting up an international blacksmith's workshop \u2013 in which European blacksmiths will participate, to promote these ancient Dacian crafts across Europe. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Step into a new reality.<\/strong>
    We're developing an intelligent IT application that will tell the history of the monument.
    Reintegration of the historical monument into the community space and its promotion by unconventional methods such as programming an IT application, installed and managed from the mobile phone\/tablet, which brings back the history of the monument.\nThe monument will be visualized on the screen, through the magic of augmented reality.\nHow?\nBy simply orienting the smartphone camera towards the historical monument, the screen will display its reconstructed image in a situated simulation.\nThe smart app will run algorithms that identify areas of the historical site and display on the device screen an image of which virtual holograms from another historical period will be added, thus creating a merge of the real world and the virtual world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Little archaeologists in action. <\/strong>
    We're opening the doors to summer schools for children with teaching archaeology in mind.
    We want the young generations to understand the role of archaeology, in general, for the community around Sarmizegetusa Regia, in particular, by implementing a non-formal education program for the young generation coming from 8 rural communities of Or\u0103\u0219tioara de Sus:\nBucium, Or\u0103\u0219tioara de Sus, Lude\u0219ti, Coste\u0219ti-Deal, Ocoli\u0219ul Mic, Lude\u0219tii de Sus, Gr\u0103di\u0219tea Muncelului, from Hunedoara County and from all around the country.\nWe will start with 30 children in each summer school in the study of archaeology by engaging them in a series of creative activities for them to develop personally and skill-wise.\nOne of the long-term strategies of the project partner, the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation, which will organize these summer schools, is the idea of focusing on educating the young generations and cultivating insight into archaeology as a whole, which should raise respect towards the cultural heritage, give a sense of belonging and responsibility towards the intangible heritage.\nThus, the proposed project is a step forward in the sense of realizing this vision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Work as a craftman<\/strong>
    We organize two craft fairs with practical demonstrations and a lot of authenticity.
    We are the trendsetters of traditional crafts and promoting cultural education, which, at the moment, is not part of the formal educational curriculum.\nCultural education activities will be implemented innovatively from the stem point of current educational methods.\nThrough experimentation, demonstration, interaction, and intercultural dialogue we will carry out cultural education activities.\nThe two editions of the crafts fair will include the exhibition of crafts goods, cultural-artistic programs, workshops to demonstrate and experiment with crafts.\nWe encourage young people to take over these occupations by creating a connection between them and the holders of traditional knowledge.\nThis kind of experiment encompasses the essence of multicultural values in the area by adapting to the current world, possibly generating revenue.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
