The project of the Hunedoara County Council "Dacia Capital – Living Museum of European Cultural Heritage" carried out in partnership with the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation and Møre og Romsdal fylkeskommune from Norway involves the implementation of actions to promote the Sarmizegetusa Regia citadel. At the initiative of the project manager of the Hunedoara County Council, Luminița Mezei, a meeting was held with Ștefan Bâlici, the manager of the National Heritage Institute, the representatives of the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation, the coordinator of the research team in the Orăștie Mountains, the archaeologist Răzvan Mateescu, and the director of the General Directorate for the Administration of Historical Monuments, Radu Barb, in order to set the schedule of actions and the proposals regarding the ways to achieve them. Our partner, the Mihai Eminescu Trust, is responsible for organizing these actions, which will begin in 2022. The project of restoration and revitalization of the archaeological site Sarmizegetusa Regia is financed by EEA Grants 2014-2021 within Program RO-Cultura . The grant for this project is 1.897.384,23 euro, plus the contribution of Hunedoara County Council in the amount of 848.865,92 euro. The total duration of the project is 42 months.
