The participation of the Association Resource Center for Local Action in "The Capital of Dacia - A Living Museum of European Cultural Heritage" project represented one of the most important and intense experiences. We were part of an effort to protect one of Romania's UNESCO heritage symbols and we are honored to have been able to contribute with what we know and do. 

We knew from the very beginning that the standards of the Mihai Eminescu Trust (MET) Foundation for the organization of training workshops for heritage protectors/guides were very high and that we had to rise to the level of expectations. That's why we've personally checked all providers to ensure that everyone involved in training has the necessary framework to focus on the activities they're participating in. 

Then it was a delight to collaborate with the architect Leoncio Orellana Vivanco, UNESCO heritage expert and Mrs. Caroline Fernolend, MET executive director. Thanks to them, each seminar was unique. Even if the theme was the same, the participants gave the line of approach, so that each of the six seminars meant a real show that Leo Orellana and Caroline Fernolend dedicated to knowledge, in the most profound and beautiful way. 

We must admit that it was not at all easy to secure the number of participants from the target groups. You know how it is, time seems to be compressed and people have more and more to do, so it's quite difficult to carve out two consecutive days to give to them personally, to dedicate to teaching them how to assume Sarmizegetusa Regia. But we were very excited to see a real interest in the course and that, in the end, we managed to engage 82 learners, 32 more than originally targeted for the 6 workshops. 

Sitting behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly, what we appreciated the most was the dedication and immense pleasure in sharing information and experience with Leo and Caroline, whether it was high school students, community representatives local or by experts in various fields related to Sarmizegetusa Regia. 

As for the guided tours offered by archaeologists to the students, right on the spot, in the site, we are convinced that they had an important impact and will carry forward the story of Sarmizegetusa in an approach closer to the scientific truth. 

The end of each workshop was the moment when we could appreciate, quite objectively we say, that we did what we had to do and that the participants in the courses realized what an inestimable value the Orăștiei Mountains keep. Then, at the end of the workshop, the students were challenged to give a guided tour or promote Sarmizegetusa from their perspective. It was a real burst of creativity. Each student came with a unique approach, from which they gained pride and a desire to do more, and this effervescence really deserves to be transformed into involvement through future projects, perhaps. 

Evenimentul final, pe care l-am organizat pe 16 noiembrie 2023, chiar de Ziua Patrimoniului Mondial UNESCO din România, la Consiliul Județean Hunedoara, a fost cu adevărat emoționant. Aproape toți cursanții din cele șase serii au fost prezenți și au avut ocazia să se vadă, să se cunoască și să se bucure împreună de momentul absolvirii.
